Here are Two New Paintings

This is Ribbons. The idea of it came from this moment that my mind falls into some times. I wrote about it in my book, "Down the Road."

"after the accident
except for the loud brain noise
that never went away
my mind was
quiet
i had been shaken
and all of the thoughts
life lessons and memories were
like these brightly colored ribbons
unraveled
cut away
without end
moving through complete darkness"

And this is Gift Giver. This is the most recent painting in my Faces of a Woman Series. It was inspired by a woman who is an amazing humanitarian. There seems to be a rare few people who are aware or awake while they are living. Rarer still are the one's who look around and see the suffering of others and decide to do something about it. The person who inspired this painting is such a person. She is not a saint or a martyr. She is a compassionate person who truly thinks about others and tries to figure out if there is some way to help them. Some small ray of hope that encourages her to help those who have been tortured and left for dead or worse, because they are regarded as having no value.

It has been a busy month. Lots of wonderful company and good times and laughter around the table. And a little work too.
